.zipyou do not extract). -

Drag the priority order: bilingual HU→EN on top while you’re a beginner; monolingual above it once you switch (B2+).
The honest state of Hungarian dictionaries
Section titled “The honest state of Hungarian dictionaries”This is Yomitan’s weakest point for Hungarian — and this project’s flagship goal:
- No polished HU→EN package exists comparable to what Japanese learners get with JMdict.
- Deinflection is the deeper gap: Yomitan needs Hungarian language transforms to resolve
házamban→házorelmentem→elmegy. Without them, lookups only hit uninflected forms.
What we’re building
Section titled “What we’re building”- A Wiktionary → Yomitan converter producing a free HU→EN dictionary (Wiktionary’s Hungarian entries are unusually rich, with full inflection tables).
- A Hungarian deinflection ruleset for Yomitan: cases, possessive endings, plurals, verb conjugation including definite forms, preverb handling.
- A frequency dictionary from subtitle corpora, so Yomitan can show you how common every word is.
Releases will land on GitHub and be announced here. Until then: keep Wiktionary open in a side tab — its inflection tables answer the “what stem is this?” question Yomitan can’t yet.
